What to do if you Run Out of Idea in Blogging

Blogging IdeasBloggers are like writers who once in a while are usually faced with writers block. You don’t need to panic if you run out of ideas for your blog. It is one of those things you will face once in a while as a blogger.

The first thing to do if you run out of idea in blogging is to get away from your PC, laptop and tablet or any device you choose to write in this age of technology. Take a stroll in the nearest park to your house or play with your children and friends. It depends on the topic of your blog, by the time you finish doing this, you might get some things to write about. Not only, that, when you engage in physical activities, the blood flow to your brain is increased, which makes it to function well.

Secondly, if you come back from playing, and you still run out of ideas, then logging onto the internet and read some blogs in your niche. Read from your favorite bloggers, by the time you read some well-written and inspired posts, your creative juice will start flowing. You also need to visit websites that are not in your niche and read some of the posts. Reading about a different topic, which is not in your niche will also help you to get more ideas for your blog. Sometimes in life, distractions and reading about topics you are not familiar with helps you to see the beauty in your own ideas and appreciate the others for writing differently.

Thirdly, visit the number-one website in the whole wide world: Google. Go to Google news and look at the keywords of the news that are related to your blog. Read all the news and write about them. If you like the news look at it from other perceptives and expand it by writing in a commentary version. If you don’t like what they write about, present a different view, you can even write it in a lighter mood. Use Google’s keyword tool to look for long tail keywords or bywords, which are related to your blog. You will find hundreds of these to write about.

For example, let say your blog is dedicated to writing about money, the moment you type money on the search column of Google’s keyword tool; you will see many topics to write about money. The lists are endless; money, free money, mad money, unclaimed money, make money fast and the money clip wallets. These are just six topics ideas you can write about money out of the first hundred keywords on it. Using the Google keyword’s tool only, you can never run out of ideas. You can write on each keyword and post daily on your blog for the next hundred days and the best part of it, is that your blog will be getting visitors from Google because you are posting the most popular phrases people are searching for.

If you put these three steps to use, you will never run out of ideas. Your blog will be updated daily and for years to come.

I run out of idea’s regularly and have to turn to something that inspires me, sometimes this involves reading the news or visiting other blogs and finding an article that brings out my creative juices. Other times I will watch a movie (do movie reviews) or play a game and just write something up around that.

Sometimes I just spend that time commenting on other sites and building backlinks, socializing which is all part of the blogging game too, so when you can’t find something to write about you can always find some other way to be productive for your sites.

    • That is quite good you know because commenting at times, you can have more ideas to write as you engage with people. It won’t work all the time, but you have nothing to lose because you still building links on the other end.

    • Books, Magazines and other people blogs all can help 😉

Even if you don’t, you gained knowledge from reading. Nothing to lose there.

  5. You are welcome Amrik. I am not too sure about the site design here but I guess Amit can answer that 😉

  6. Those ideas Alan should definitely help get the juices flowing for sure.

I always enjoy getting ideas from other people’s blogs and a tip I learned just today is when you are visiting other blogs, check out their most popular posts. Surely you’ll find something to write about through your own experience just from those headers.

We also all love Google Alerts so use your most popular keywords and have alerts sent to your inbox and that should help give you more awesome ideas.

    • It is true. I had setup 3-4 alerts from Google to see what other people is blogging about in my niche. At times, I will blog about it and link to them if it is way to interesting for me to check it out.
