Why Pinterest Booming Like Addiction? [Infographics]

No one fully understood the fact that Pinterest has grown so rapidly in such a short time, after all it is a fairly simple social network based mainly in the images. But maybe that is exactly the key to its success.

Column Five has created a computer graphics in which addiction is examined Pinterest compared with other networks and their uses. Is it just a free social network like any other? Or has become an addiction that has replaced the other?

Based on these data, from September 2011 until this February, the network has increased their visits in a 866%, from 1,680,000 to 16,230,000. However, its use is much lower monthly to other social networks. Pinterest holds the 98 minutes a month, nothing compared to seven hours with which Facebook account or even the two hours of Tumblr.

One of the reasons why it seems to be addictive to its users is the simplicity of its design. This design allows just enjoy the content without distractions and with minimal effort. In fact, all buttons are hidden so as not to impede that simplicity.

Just as with Facebook, Pinterest encourages its users to create constant and continuous content and updates. The more content, more visitors. It also appears that some users see it as a refuge from other social networks like Facebook or Twitter, that with the speed with which work can become tiring to the user. In these updates, ReTweets and comments are constants; it is almost instantaneous response networks. Pinterest is for them a kind of place where the rest of this.

Another positive aspect is accessibility. No matter where the pin button-it’s always accessible and present. In the case of Facebook or Twitter pages sometimes stop working input by technical problems, but not so with Pinterest can occur because the application “pin-it” is external to the page.

In Pinterest also shared a lot and all the time. Evidence of this is the fact that 80% of the pins are repins while only 1.4% of Twitter tweets are ReTweets.

Pinterest other hand offers users other possibilities dreamed up by them, for example the possibility to be very popular. All updates are placed on the home page Pinterest and make it easier to find your friends on other social networks like Facebook. Thus allows not only your friends see your updates but also to see strangers may decide to start to follow you. Pinterest thus becomes a way of creating new users for them can bring many benefits as well.
