How to Monetize Your Blog with a Worldwide Audience

Almost every blogger is doing it for the love of it, the creating of a community, and the pure enjoyment of interaction. But there is also the added advantage of being able to make a bit of cash via the blog, and some of the more successful examples can even make an extremely healthy living in this way. If your blog reaches a worldwide audience, then the opportunities for generating income are even more abundant.

Google AdSense

Advertising has long been the traditional way for a website or blog to make some cash from their endeavors. But in the old days, it was quite the chore to negotiate sponsors, code the adverts, and display them correctly. The easiest way to gain advertising revenue these days is to use Google AdSense, and this allows you to put a simple piece of code that shows adverts on your site that monitors the level of visitors and pays you accordingly.

Endorsements

Many companies that sell goods associated with the subject matter of your blog may want to benefit from your good name and reputation in the industry you are operating in, and you may want to cash in on that. If you, for example, you blog about gardening and a prominent mower manufacturer is keen to get some exposure, they may pay you to mention it in one of your posts. You can often get free goods as well as cash rewards for this kind of work.

Selling Goods

As well as promoting items and brands within your articles, there is no reason you should not attach an online shop to your blog. Of course, this does not come without its difficulties, as you either need to have storage facilities for stock or have an arrangement with a supplier who might send it out for you. Trading internationally would also present its challenges; how will you take payment? Users could buy bitcoin India and then pay you if they are unsure about the security of transactions.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is another way of promoting products for others, but it’s less personal than endorsements. You effectively link to product or service, and the provider of the link will track how many of your customers who followed the link bought something, and you get paid a percentage accordingly. The risk with this type of marketing is there is an element of faith involved as you have no way of knowing if the statistics the partner is giving you are accurate.

Sponsored Posts

We talked earlier about agreeing to endorsements within your blog posts. But its possible to go even one step further and engage in allowing sponsored posts. This usually involves allowing an outside organization to buy space and place a sponsored post on your site. This is much more of an imposition, and you should be charging a higher fee as a result of this. It is customary to tag these posts as sponsored so that your fans are aware these ones are not written by yourself.
