Since millennials form the biggest demographic of buyers that corporate targets in their product development and product sales hence it is imperative that one be acquainted with the trends that the millennials have been known to follow and will follow in 2020. So we have made a list of smart trends affecting all industries that the millennials will be inclined towards in the future:

  • Smaller homes

Contrary to the general trend of the boomers, the millennials have been shown to prefer smaller and sleeker homes thereby pushing big mansions out of the picture and increasing the sales of smaller apartments. This also shows preference towards the budget or the number of bucks the millennials are willing to shell out or the localities that they would prefer. Many surveys also predict that the big homes or the areas where these are present would soon become a relic of the past.

  • Minimalistic interiors

Gone are the days when people preferred heavily decorated interiors full of artifacts and useless vases. With the progress of time, the Millennials have shown a strong propensity for minimal interior designs and owning only the essential things. To facilitate these people have moved more towards renting stuff rather than buying it. For instance, millennials would much rather rent a fridge than buy and be worried about its maintenance.

  • Using online services for household chores

From hiring a gardener to getting a barber Millenials have somewhat become lazy or some would say more prudent about where they spend their precious time and therefore, they prefer hiring service through online service providers who guarantee at home service to schlepping themselves to the store. On similar lines instead of having a weekly visit to the neighborhood laundry, people prefer to rent washing machines and using it for their needs.

  • Energy drinks

Millennials have grown up in an era where they are constantly active and work 24*7*365. Hence this doesn’t leave much room for sitting down and having an eight-course meal all the time. Therefore to take care of their needs Millennials have shown an inclination towards energy drinks that gives quick energy and gets them running and active. While initially these energy drinks were thought to have numerous side effects, with the latest advancements these side effects have increasingly been curbed.

  • It’s all about convenience

Not all millennials can boast about having a regular breakfast on the table at home. This is again because of the time constraints plus some find it boring, Therefore to take care of this problem numerous companies are offering on the go meal which you can eat while on the subway or a bus on your way to your office.

Now that you are well equipped with the knowledge about trends that the millennials are following you could apply them to your business model or if you are a millennial yourself then you could follow them too.
